Old Boy Profile – Edwin Macrae Bath

Member of Parliament (MP) National Assembly, South Africa

Saints Old Boy, Edwin Macrae Bath, has recently taken on the responsibility of representing South Africans in Parliament. Growing up in Underberg, Edwin attributes his decision to pursue politics and public service to his humble rural beginnings.

Having Matriculated from St Charles College in 2007, Edwin furthered his education by obtaining various tertiary qualifications. He completed his BSc in Property Studies (Honours) at the University of Cape Town in 2011, a Diploma in Project Management in 2013, and then in 2024 completed his Masters in Public Governance at the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance.

With more than 12 years of experience in the public sector, including significant roles in middle and senior management within the KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape Provincial Governments, as well as the City of Cape Town before taking up his seat in Parliament. Edwin is known for his drive and dedication.

In his own words, “With over a decade of experience within the Public Works and Infrastructure sector, I am eager to contribute to South Africa’s infrastructure development and management agenda. I look forward to bringing my expertise and passion to my Portfolio Committee and working with my colleagues to achieve our goals. It seems that my career and life choices have led me here where I hope to contribute to building a better South Africa for All.”
